"The Beijing Immersion tour was transformative. Standing in the Forbidden City before the crowds arrived, with our historian explaining the symbolism in every detail — that was a once-in-a-lifetime moment."
"At 66, I thought that dream was behind me. The Amy program gave me the courage to go back to school — to Harvard for two weeks. It was the best decision of my life."
"The Dunhuang color sculpture experience was extraordinary. Walking through the caves with Master Du, then creating our own sculptures — I felt connected to 1,000 years of history."

AMY GUIDES CHINA programs are designed for intellectually curious adults of all ages — from active retirees in their 50s to seasoned travellers in their 80s. Whether you're seeking a short cultural immersion or a longer study residency, our programs are crafted to meet you where you are. No academic background is required — only a desire to learn, explore, and connect.
Each program includes expert-led guided tours, all entrance fees and private access arrangements, accommodation in curated heritage properties, most meals as specified in the itinerary, internal transportation during the program, and pre-departure briefing materials. International flights, travel insurance, and visa fees are quoted separately. We handle all logistics with a dedicated travel concierge.
Absolutely. Many of our scholars choose to arrive early or extend their stay after the program concludes. We can assist with additional hotel bookings, internal travel arrangements, and personalised itinerary extensions in any destination we serve. Just speak with your dedicated concierge.
We deliberately keep groups small — between 8 and 16 participants depending on the program. This ensures meaningful interactions with our expert guides, flexibility in the itinerary, and a sense of genuine community among participants. Some programs can be customised for private groups of 4 or more.
Most international visitors to China require a visa. We work with a network of visa specialists who can assist with the application process, documentation, and timing. For certain nationalities and program types, group visa arrangements may be available. Your travel concierge will provide full guidance upon enrollment.
We understand plans can change. Cancellations made 60+ days before departure receive a full refund minus a small administrative fee. Cancellations 30–59 days receive a 50% refund. Cancellations within 30 days are non-refundable but may be transferred to a future program or to another traveller. Full policy details are provided at time of booking.
Every journey begins with a conversation. Tell us what you're looking for — a short cultural exploration, a multi-week study residency, or a bespoke private itinerary — and we'll design something extraordinary for you.
